Notcoin No Longer Required to Participate in TON’s Ecosystem
Tonkeeper, one of the most popular self-custody wallets on the TON blockchain, teamed up with the Ton Core team to release the new W5 standard. In essence, the update will allow the community to pay transaction fees using USDT (when sending USDT), and USDT or Notcoin when sending Notcoin.
The improvement means that TON users won’t need to use Toncoin to engage with the blockchain’s growing list of popular decentralised applications. This makes it easier to onboard new participants who may hold plenty of Tether’s stablecoin, but don’t necessarily want to jump through the hoops of buying a new crypto asset.
The new wallet standard will also come with a range of security enhancements to ensure a safe blockchain environment for all.
