Judge Declares Craig Wright is Not Satoshi Nakamoto

  • Australian computer scientist Craig Wright has long claimed to be the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
  • Unfortunately for Dr Wright, nobody else in the world agrees with him – including the judicial system.
  • After being sued by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), Wright has been declared once and for all as “NOT” the founder of Bitcoin.

“Breaking news!!! We have breaking news!!! In the shock of the century, a London judge has ruled that Craig Wright is, in fact, Satoshi Nakamoto.“

This is how we would’ve opened this article if it were April Fools Day today. Unfortunately, that revered date is still a few weeks away, so instead we’ll just have to open with:

“To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Craig Wright is not the inventor of Bitcoin.”

See, that’s much less exciting, isn’t it?

Evidence Proving Wright Is Not Nakamoto: “Overwhelming”

Craig Wright is like the crypto world’s very own version of the SEC. Where the US regulators target ambiguous concepts like “unregistered securities”, Wright goes after creators in the blockchain space who use his “patents” and “defame” him by daring to suggest he did not create BTC.

After relentlessly suing several players in the industry, eventually, someone had enough. The Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) filed a complaint against Wright with a simple goal. By proving that Wright was not Satoshi Nakamoto, he would then be forced to stop suing BTC developers and attempting to create private patents. And they succeeded with flying colours.

The London judge presiding over the case, James Mellor, was emphatic in concluding that Dr Wright could be anybody he wanted to be – just not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Dr Wright is not the author of the Bitcoin white paper. Dr Wright is not the person who adopted or operated under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto in the period 2008 to 2011. Dr Wright is not the creator of Bitcoin.

COPA was extremely pleased with the outcome of the ruling, declaring it a key day for the freedom of cryptocurrency.

For over eight years, Dr Wright and his financial backers have lied about his identity as Satoshi Nakamoto and used that lie to bully and intimidate developers in the Bitcoin community…that ends today.

In an even more hilarious twist, there’s a chance that Wright will face penalties on account of perjury.

COPA alleged that the documents Wright presented to the court – supposedly “proving” that he was Nakamoto – were knowingly falsified. Although the Judge failed to comment on whether he planned to go through with the prosecution, given his ruling, it’s certainly on the cards.
